Privacy policy
Last updated 28 October 2026
In short: this website has no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. When you buy, Stripe takes your payment, and I get your name, email and order so I can send your licence key.
Joshua Higgins, trading as Higgins Development (41 Princeton Way, Ellesmere Port, CH65 8AH, UK), is responsible for the personal data described here. Contact: josh@higginsdevelopment.co.uk. This policy covers this website and buying a Crawl Master licence. What the app itself does is in its own privacy notice (in the app, About > Privacy notice).
Visiting this website
No cookies, analytics, third-party scripts or third-party fonts. The web server keeps short technical logs (IP address, page requested, browser type and time) to keep the site secure and working. They're deleted within 30 days.
Buying a licence
Stripe sells licences as merchant of record. It collects your payment details, billing address and tax information and uses them under its own privacy policy. I never see your full card number.
Stripe passes me your name, email address, country and what you bought. My licence service uses this to create your licence key and email it to you, and to cancel the key if a payment is refunded or disputed. The legal basis is performing our contract, and keeping tax records is a legal obligation. Order records are kept for 6 years after the end of the tax year of the purchase.
Licence checks
About once a week the app checks that your licence hasn't been cancelled. It sends only your licence ID. It doesn't send your name, your computer's name or anything about your crawls.
If you email me
I use your name, email address and message to reply and give you support. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering you, or performing our contract if you have a licence. Support emails are kept for 2 years. If you send a support log from the app, it's deleted within 90 days of closing your request.
Who else handles your data
- Stripe: payments and tax, as merchant of record (USA and elsewhere)
- Cloudflare: runs the licence service (USA and elsewhere)
- Resend: sends licence key emails (USA)
- Microsoft 365: email (UK and EU)
Where data goes outside the UK, it's protected by UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data I hold about you, or object to how I use it. Email me and I'll reply within one month. If you're not happy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
